Prototype Build and a Shift of Focus

Note: Development may have a bit of a slowdown during the holiday season.

Proto-gameplay:

I want to focus this devlog on two main updates to Fossilarium. Starting off, a VERY early prototype will be playable alongside this post. What I have  so far is all in one test room. It is not much but I wanted to provide just a small taste of what is to come with this project. 

you are able to:

  • interact with a base version of the dig sites
    • this allows you to collect a few fossils and some gems
  • an interactive inventory that allows you to reorder what you have collected

It is not much but I hope to at least give an idea of where this project is heading. There are going to be many bugs as its a very early version.

The Shift:

The second part of this devlog, is a sort of shift or addition in focus for the project. I want to be honest and upfront, giving credit where it is due for the conception of this project. This project would not exist if it were not for the grace of God and faith in His plan for my life. To best describe it, I felt a call in my heart to begin this game. Through prayer, I was given a peace and moving of the Spirit to begin work on this project. In light of this, through talks with fellow believers, the concept of adding in historically and biblically accurate artifacts was presented to me. I feel this would be a beautiful way to honor God in all I do on this project and share my faith as well as give, you, the player an engaging and impactful experience.
